Well, here I have made a CLEANER WIRING DIAGRAM on the SAME CIRCUIT of the 16 Elements Commutator and the THREE COILS Minimalist setup:

I only hope that now it would be better understood, since I used the OLD Wiring Convention of curves around the "no connection" with crossed wirings.

I have also noted the 'S' & 'E' (Start and End) of each Coil plus its identical Electrical connections related to (+) & (-)

EDIT ONE: Please note that I have INVERTED Q3 COIL & TERMINALS POSITIONING on this Diagram, (for sake of understanding wiring properly) HOWEVER,  WHAT MATTERS HERE IS ESSENTIALLY "THE MAGNETIC POLARITY TO BE AN ATTRACT CHAIN!!".
And that is to ALWAYS KEEP AN ATTRACTION CHAIN between ALL Three Coils  (Q1, Q3, Q2), or N/S>N/S>N/S
So, it shows here the SAME ELECTRIC POLARITY (for ALL Three Coils), that is: End is ALWAYS POSITIVE, as START IS ALWAYS NEGATIVE !

And am sorry, but I can NOT make it any cleaner and simpler than this diagram shown above!!...

Hello All,

Ok, so, in order to make this Three Coils with the 16 Elements Commutator DRIVER much more 'understandable'...I have another way to look at it.

When we look at my 16 elements commutator, and the way I am wiring it INTERNALLY, we have this Diagram:


So, if we look at this Diagram in detail, we notice that I have TWO COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT CIRCUITS HERE:

• The Q1 RED CIRCUIT, which joints TWO ELEMENTS TOGETHER ALTERNATIVELY.
• The Q2 BLUE CIRCUIT, which joints TWO ELEMENTS TOGETHER ALTERNATIVELY.

Then EACH CIRCUIT DERIVES INTO JUST TWO TERMINALS:

• Q1 RED CIRCUIT SINGLE OUTPUT TERMINAL.
• Q2 BLUE CIRCUIT SINGLE OUTPUT TERMINAL.

NOW, as we can see on Diagram above, we actually have:

• FOUR Q1 (RED) DOUBLE CONTACTS.
• FOUR Q2 (BLUE) DOUBLE CONTACTS.

Therefore, above I have made an EIGHT ELEMENTS COMMUTATOR, in order to SIMPLIFY the way we look at the 16 Elements, which seems 'too complex', due to ALL the Jumpers between TWO ADJACENT ELEMENTS.

Still we have a TOTAL of EIGHT TRANSITIONS between each Q1-Q2 TRANSFER.

Again, I have done this 8 Elements Commutator to merely SIMPLIFY my setup, in order that it could be better understood.

About these future tests...
I feel we could find some 'magic' into them...I really do!
And I center my thoughts about its CENTER COIL (Q3) we can make it, be 'induced' by the Q1 & Q2 Interactions...
By simply adding a cross diode between its terminals...and having it feed itself!
As long as Magnetic Polarization takes place in the previously described Attraction Chain...
It would be wonderful, wouldn't it?
That Q3 would be a self feed coil?
Just based on the interactions between Q1 & Q2?

Thanks for posts #906 and #907. I think #906 makes the commutator arrangement considerably easier to understand.

Looking at the 16-element commutator electrically, I agree that the paired adjacent elements effectively reduce it to eight switching contact groups: four Q1 (red) contacts and four Q2 (blue) contacts, alternating around the commutator.

Therefore, the effective sequence becomes:
Q1 → Q2 → Q1 → Q2 → Q1 → Q2 → Q1 → Q2

This gives four complete electrical cycles per mechanical revolution.
Therefore, at 900 RPM:
900 RPM / 60 = 15 revolutions/second
 15 × 4 cycles/revolution = 60 Hz

So, for our minimalist three-coil test, I think the 8-element representation is an excellent way to simplify both the explanation and potentially the actual hardware.

One engineering point I would keep in mind: if we physically replace the paired 16-element commutator with an 8-element version, we should try to preserve approximately the same contact angle, brush overlap and coil ON-time.

Electrically grouping two adjacent segments is straightforward, but changing their mechanical geometry could change the dwell and transition characteristics.
Regarding your interesting idea in #907 of allowing Q3 to receive induced energy from the Q1/Q2 interaction, I definitely think this is worth testing.
However, I suggest we test it progressively so that we can see exactly what is happening rather than immediately interpreting it as self-feeding.

My sequence would be:

• First, disconnect PSU-2 from Q3 and operate Q1/Q2 normally. 
• Measure the open-circuit induced voltage across Q3.
• Then place a known resistive load across Q3 and measure its voltage, current, and actual induced power.
• Reconnect PSU-2 and operate Q3 with its normal constant DC bias. 
• Test several Q3 currents while recording the Main Secondary output.
• Only after obtaining this baseline should we introduce the diode/recovery arrangement and repeat exactly the same measurements.

This would give us a very useful comparison.
If Q1/Q2 are transferring useful magnetic energy into Q3, one particularly interesting result would be whether the power demanded from PSU-2 decreases while the Q3 magnetic bias remains approximately the same.
That would give us measurable evidence that some energy is being recovered through the interaction.

One caution regarding the diode: if it is simply placed antiparallel across a DC-powered Q3, depending on its orientation and circuit configuration, it can behave primarily as a freewheel/flyback path.

It could alter Q3 current decay and the induced waveform, and an incorrect orientation could effectively short PSU-2.
Therefore, I suggest we establish the Q3 waveform and polarity experimentally first before deciding the final diode orientation and recovery circuit.
I think this could actually make the three-coil experiment more informative: not only testing the Main Secondary output, but also determining quantitatively how Q1 and Q2 interact with the constantly biased center coil Q3.

So, the next step:
First establish the baseline → measure Q3 induction → load Q3 → restore DC bias → finally test the diode/recovery or proposed self-feed configuration.

Then the measurements can tell us whether Q3 is merely recirculating stored magnetic energy, receiving measurable energy from Q1/Q2, or whether there is enough recovered energy to materially reduce its external PSU requirement.
